Windows-native JXL integration
JPEG XL decoding uses the Microsoft JPEG XL Image Extension / WIC path where available, keeping the format inside the normal N1 browsing workflow.
JXL files in a mixed-format folder
JPEG XL images can sit beside JPEG, PNG, HEIC, AVIF, RAW and EXR files in the same Filmstrip and Gallery, with the same comparison and culling tools.
HDR JPEG XL
Validated 16-bit floating-point HDR Rec.2020 / PQ content can enter the linear scRGB / FP16 presentation pipeline through supported Windows decode paths.
Browse, compare and cull
JXL files can sit alongside other supported formats in Filmstrip, Gallery and comparison workflows rather than requiring a separate viewer.
